The darkness
presses down,
paralyzing me,
preventing me,
playing with my mind
The darkness
feeds me the lie,
tells me that God
is gone,
tells me that I
am alone
The oil in my lamp
runs low,
hope flickers
goodbye,
doubt wonders
why
Where are you,
God?
Why can't I
find You?
My cries echo
in the emptiness
Are You here?
Are You hiding
in the shadows
of my despair?
I sense You,
though my sight
is failing;
do You hear
my wailing?
The darkness
presses down
Fill my lamp,
Lord,
keep it burning;
let there be
a turning
of my darkness
into light
(Psalm 18:28 ~ You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.)
